Teller County early voting set to begin Oct. 19

Teller County plans to begin early voting Oct. 19 for the Nov. 3 general election, after mailing ballots and opening drop boxes Oct. 5. The clerk told county commissioners on Sept. 24 that early voting was scheduled to begin Oct. 19.

The county expects to mail about 19,300 regular ballots and 2,500 property-owner ballots, across 31 ballot styles, on Oct. 5. It also plans to open ballot drop boxes that day, the clerk said during the commissioners’ Sept. 10 meeting. The two ballot estimates total about 21,800.

The Colorado Secretary of State’s 2026 election calendar sets Oct. 19 as the date by which counties must open the minimum number of required voter service and polling centers statewide, and Oct. 12 for the minimum number of required drop boxes.

A county notice soliciting public comment lists four proposed 24-hour drop-box locations:

• Clerk and Recorder’s Motor Vehicle Office, 800 Research Drive, Suite 200, Woodland Park
• Divide Market, 1111 Highway 24, Divide
• Teller County Courthouse, 101 W. Bennett Avenue, Cripple Creek
• Florissant Public Library, 334 Circle Drive, Florissant

The county notice also lists proposed voter service and polling centers at Woodland Park Public Library, Florissant Public Library (Election Day only) and the Centennial Building in Cripple Creek (Election Day only). The notice lists proposed sites, not confirmed final locations. Voters can check the Secretary of State’s voter-location lookup for current locations before voting or returning a ballot.

Voters who do not receive a ballot should contact the county clerk and recorder’s office. Voters may also cast a ballot in person when a voter service and polling center is open; county officials said an in-person ballot would replace and cancel a previously issued mail ballot. Ballots must reach the county clerk by 7 p.m. Nov. 3, according to state election guidance.
