Manitou Springs draft budget proposes $400,000 for mobility pathway

Manitou Springs’ draft 2027 Open Space Advisory Committee budget proposes $400,000 for a mobility pathway and forecasts $634,450 in total expenses. The proposed allocations have not been approved, the draft budget says.
The draft also proposes $60,000 for Black Canyon trail and pedestrian-bridge construction as a match for a $174,025.50 grant application in progress.
The budget starts with an $802,000 carry-forward balance and estimates $230,000 in property- and sales-tax revenue for 2027, totaling $1.032 million in available funds. If those estimates and projected expenses hold, $397,550 would remain.
The budget lists the pathway only as “Mobility Pathway,” without a location or project scope.
The Open Space Advisory Committee’s Sept. 28 agenda lists the proposed budget under old business for its 6 p.m. meeting. The draft says it is to go to the Manitou Springs City Council for consideration, but does not give a date.
