Mountain Metropolitan Transit is proposing to temporarily move Route 33’s endpoint to Memorial Park, a change the agency projects would save Manitou Springs $20,270 annually and allow more frequent service. The move would last until the Dillon Mobility Hub can accommodate buses, [Mountain Metro’s presentation says](https://manitouspringsco.api.civicclerk.com/v1/Meetings/GetAttachmentFile(fileId=8177).

The Manitou Springs City Council is scheduled to discuss the proposal Oct. 6. The presentation lists Oct. 20 as the planned vote, while a city memo says the Oct. 6 presentation is intended to gather council direction before officials request formal action. The council has not approved the proposal.

Under the proposed schedule, Route 33 would run every 10 minutes during peak season, from late March through late October, between 6 a.m. and 5 p.m. on weekdays and weekends, then every 20 minutes from 5 to 8 p.m. In the off-season, from late October through late March, buses would run every 20 minutes from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekdays and weekends. The Memorial Park option would require two buses and eliminate bus layovers at Fields Park.

Route 3 would continue providing zero-fare service between the Dillon Lot and Memorial Park, connecting with Route 33. The proposal says buses would no longer lay over at Fields Park but does not specify whether Route 33 would still stop there to pick up or drop off passengers.

If approved, the change would begin with the Spring 2027 service change, scheduled for March 28. Mountain Metro’s planning timeline says finalized service changes typically take about four months to implement.
