Teller County plan would add immunizations, WIC at Cripple Creek school clinic
The proposed expansion would add county immunization and WIC services to BeeWell Medical’s school-based health center in Cripple Creek.
Teller County Public Health and Environment has proposed adding immunizations and Women, Infants and Children services at BeeWell Medical, a primary-care and school-based health center at Cresson Elementary in Cripple Creek.
County commissioners are scheduled to consider the proposed memorandum of agreement and an updated lease Sept. 24. The proposal would expand services at the clinic, which currently lists primary and preventive care, women’s health, behavioral-health services, testing, chronic-disease management and other care on the BeeWell Medical website.
Under the proposed agreement, county public-health staff would schedule appointments, provide immunization, WIC and reproductive-health services, collect applicable client payments and administer Vaccines for Children vaccines. The agreement identifies Medicaid-enrolled, underinsured and uninsured patients among those eligible for the vaccines and calls for BeeWell and the county to coordinate referrals for patients who may qualify.
The proposed lease covers about 375 square feet at Cresson Elementary, including a provider office, exam room, nurse office, shared waiting space and storage. It sets rent at $300 per month for a proposed term from Sept. 1, 2026, through June 30, 2027. The school district would provide basic internet, electricity, water and janitorial services.
The proposed memorandum would run through June 30, 2027, with possible annual renewals by written agreement. Either party could terminate it with 30 days’ written notice. The lease also permits termination with at least 30 days’ notice.
