Colorado Springs City Council gave final approval Oct. 27 to zoning allowing up to 184 dwelling units per acre on about 1.2 acres at 202, 251 and 252 East Las Animas Street. The change takes effect Nov. 4, Ordinance 26-58 says.
The rezoning raises the site’s maximum density from 15 to 184 dwelling units per acre and its height limit from 60 to 65 feet. It permits apartments, condominiums and live/work uses, as well as retail, office and service commercial uses, and specifies 950 square feet of commercial space.
The ordinance changes the zoning map but does not approve a specific building plan or establish a total number of homes for the site. The density limit describes what the zoning allows, not a project approved for construction.
