Douglas County Parks and Recreation staff recommended adding $74,370 to the Architerra Group contract for Macanta Regional Park, including design work for a roughly 1,600-foot trail across Castleview Baptist Church property. The amendment would raise the contract maximum from $191,445 to $265,815, the staff report says.

The proposed amount includes $31,970 for preliminary and final design of the trail and $42,400 for roadway coordination and revisions. The work would include planning the trail’s alignment and grading and preparing a change-order request to add it to the park project. The proposal assumes roadway-ditch drainage would pass beneath the trail, with the church’s civil engineer designing that drainage. It also includes $960 for surveying and preparing an easement legal description. The amendment would fund design services, not construction or an easement grant.

Castle Rock Parks and Recreation describes Macanta as a planned 450-acre regional park with 11.6 miles of unpaved trails.

County commissioners are scheduled to consider the amendment Nov. 3, the meeting cover page says. The county rescheduled its Oct. 27 business meeting, moving its items to Nov. 3, the official agenda shows.
