Douglas County Parks and Recreation staff is asking county commissioners to approve up to $58,000 for a New Year’s Eve drone show on Dec. 31, 2026. The staff recommendation says the addition would raise the county’s contract ceiling with HIREUAVPRO from $65,800 to $123,800. The staff report says the show would use 400 to 500 drones.

The Board of County Commissioners is scheduled to consider the proposal as part of its consent agenda at its Nov. 3 business meeting. The meeting packet lists the recommendation; the proposed spending has not yet been approved.
