Douglas County staff is asking county commissioners to approve an additional $500,000 for drainage and channel-stabilization work along Newlin Gulch near Recreation Drive, extending upstream to Jordan Road. Commissioners are scheduled to consider the proposal Nov. 3.

The staff cover sheet describes the work as part of County Project FC2022-010 and recommends Amendment No. 3 to an agreement with the Town of Parker and the Mile High Flood District, which manages regional flood-control programs.

The amendment’s funding tables show the proposed $500,000 would bring the County’s total listed contribution to $800,000, including $300,000 contributed previously. The amendment lists $4.575 million in total funding: $3.7 million for capital improvements and $875,000 for district maintenance. It estimates project costs at $4.575 million, including $500,000 for final design and $4.075 million for construction.

The amendment says construction funds are anticipated to be added to the agreement later; it does not provide a construction schedule.
